my first collection of songs is now, officially, 80% of the way toward being sold in stores and online. all that is left to do now is create the album packaging (cover art, etc.,) and get set up for production and distribution with the company i've decided on. the songs are complete and the total length of the album is over 50 minutes.
i'm thrilled, of course.
just over one year. that's what it will have taken to create it, from that first beat to ending up on iTunes, among other places.
i didn't actually plan on people liking my music, but a lot of people do and it's exciting.
of course, one dream is to end up on Metropolis. i know i'm far off from that, but it could happen. look at Cut Chemist: he's exploded into the world of dub and turntable music, doing ads for Apple now, making craploads of money and having a blast. and he started out small too, eventually being played on Morning Becomes Eclectic and Metropolis and going from there.
did i mention how much i heart Jason Bentley?
